Going-to-the-Sun Senior Pictures by Loni Judisch

As a photographer, there are only a few experiences that compete with the raw beauty of capturing senior photos against the backdrop of Glacier National Park's Going-to-the-Sun Road. Nestled within the heart of Montana's wilderness, this location offers a stunning canvas for senior sessions that's unlike anything else.

This last summer, I met up with Savannah and her family for an evening. Savannah is a senior who is graduating in 2024. “Adventurous” is the one word used to describe her. Between her spunky personality and love for the outdoors, she was a natural in front of the camera-every photographer’s dream come true! The unending mountain ranges, colorful wildflowers, and crisp waters became a breathtaking element of every photo. As if things couldn’t get any better, we spent the golden hour, that perfect time just before sunset, with Savannah in a field surrounded by her mother’s favorite wildflowers. Something you must experience for yourself!

If you have a senior who loves the outdoors and is up for an adventure, Glacier National Park is the perfect location. There are several points along Going-to-the-Sun Road that provide stunning backdrops for photos, including Sun Point and Big Bend. Among these locations, you can find large cliffs overlooking a shimmering lake, streams, a panoramic view of the mountains, and a waterfall if you’re up for a short hike. You may even get to experience the thrill of encountering wildlife, including the iconic big horn sheep.

Between the scenery, fresh mountain air, wildlife encounters, and mesmerizing golden hour, every portrait becomes a work of art; capturing not only the senior's personality, but also the beauty of nature itself. So, if you're seeking an experience that's as incredible as the mountains themselves, then look no further!
